Situated midway between Belvidere and Oxford, Apple Mountain Golf & Country Club has been recognized as one of New Jersey's must-play courses. The course was built on an apple orchard, providing fragrant apple blossoms in the spring and colorful foliage in the fall. The unique design was built on a hillside, which in itself presents many challenges to golfers. The dramatic elevation changes from pin to green present difficult lies on the approach shot. There is no sand on the golf course, but with water on 11 holes, and demanding greens, sand traps will hardly be missed. A local magazine dubbed Apple Mountain Golf & Country Club's signature 17th hole one of the most perfect in the state. This par-6 hole was once the site of a ski slope. The hole doglegs down a mountain with treacherously positioned trees along the right.

Great scenery!
We were behind a league which slowed our pace. I did not see a ranger on the course. The refreshment guy went past us a few times though. Over all the course was very well kept and the scenery was spectacular. A fawn crossed our cart path right in front of us which made our extended time worth it. Even though our pace was slow it gave us a reason to enjoy the great views. I would play this course again. With the discount price at Golf Now it was a great day.
Great views
There are some unreal views from atop the mountain. The course itself is decent with some interesting holes. There are many decisions to be made on several tee boxes. Overall an unbelievable bang for your buck.
The views on this course are fantastic.
The course is well maintained and pace of play was pretty good. One hole (16) was under repair with an alternate green that was not playable. This does not look like a long term problem.
The course is an old Apple Orchard with great views of the Delaware Water Gap and the surrounding area.
The staff of the course and resturant are very friendly and helpful.
We have a company outing there every September and they do a great job.
After 5" of rain, not bad
Got out early right after a day of 5"of rain, course drains well,
quick round. Generally course was i good shape, but they are having problems with their greens.
1 was closed 16, and there were about 4 others that were unputtable, but for 50 bucks on a Saturday morning, not a bad deal.
price was right
The course was very scenic with great views. However, the greens need some work and the grass needs to be trimmed with a plan in mind. There's potential, but that would require capital and then the greens fees would go up.
Scenic course, some holes require attention
Just played here Friday with two of my friends. Overall I thought the course was nice, great scenery all around. However three of the holes had temporary greens which was a big disappointment. I will definitely golf here again. Hopefully all the greens will be playable soon.
Very pretty views and good food.
But the cartpaths are for billy goats and the the course never seems well maintained. Is it worth $35.00/round? I guess. The food is good and I sometimes go there just to eat and use the practice green.
Good for practice
The course had 4 temp. greens and 2 or 3 others had very little grass. The fairways were decent and also an interesting lay-out on the side of a mountain. With the greens fee only $14 I can't complain too much!
Slow play
Played on a Sunday. Did t know there was an outin that went out right before our groups tee time. Wouldn't have booked the tee time. 5 1/2 hours to play 18 holes...
Decent course at affordable price
This course is pretty straightforward. Not extremely difficult by any means, with exception to the greens. The greens need a lot of work; and because many are without grass, they are super fast.
The people working there are quite pleasant.
The course was packed when we played, and the round took us about 5 hours. Happily, the beer cart comes around every few holes.
For $40, I would certainly come back here
Open year-round..
I went to this course the other day. Temps were in the 50s. Spoke to the director of golf, who was a nice man. He was also the cart attendant (no other staff there to my knowledge- but I don't blame them cutting overhead since it's out of season). The course was alright. Definitely cut out for kids or the elderly due to the shortness of the Par 4s. Very interesting layout- no hole is level throughout. There are no sand traps, which I found interesting. You are either teeing off onto a hill, leaving yourself on a steep incline for your approach to the green, or you're shooting downhill, taking your approach shot on a decline. The course was old, that's for sure; but the greens were very nice, and for a course that's open year-round, the fairway grass was pretty decent, too.
Facilities were pretty run-down, however. Restaurant looked pretty old..Same for the pro shop and restrooms. But, for 39 bucks, you really can't beat it.
Great Value Course
As a high handicapper, this is one of my go to courses due to the great deals on GolfNow.
The best way to describe this course is interesting. The conditions are generally good. Some tee boxes are a bit uneven and my wife, who plays from the red tees sometimes has to deal with some high grass. The fairways are wide and forgiving and most holes adjoin the others so even when you miss the fairway, you still tend to be in another fairway. That said, you'll be dealing with a lot of sidehill lies here. Missing greens is also challenging as most of the greens are elevated so bring your lob wedge because you'll be playing a lot of flop shots from off the greens.
All in all, I really like this course because of all the elements I mentioned above. I love practicing so playing this course allows me to focus a lot of attention on sidehill lies and high short game shots as opposed to just dealing with them every once in a while.
Great value for the money
Very scenic course. Fairways wide open. Greens can be somewhat hard to putt.
Great value when there is a deal
I'm a first year golfer and have been visiting courses all over northern NJ this year (play 1-3 times a week). On my first visit here the course was pristine. The second time around the greens were just OK. The greens can be challenging, even for my playing partner who has an uncanny ability to putt!
Overall we enjoy playing here and you can't beat the value when you can find a round for around $20...
Bad all around
What a par 3 course. Very Narrow and sad pro shop. Bar & Restaurant is horrible watched them recycle food, they dont wear gloves or hats. No host, bad manager
Never saw a bunker
Easier to play since there were no bunkers and you could drive
to your ball. Many holes close to each other so you have to watch for other golfers. This year they had a special -if you paid $9 at check in you received a $9.50 credit on lunch plus a drink.
