Cascades Golf Course
About
Cascades Golf Club is one of two nine-hole courses offered by Crystal Springs Resort, which offers four other courses. Cascades is the newest of all the courses. It was designed by Roger Rulewich, who designed two of the resort's most popular golf courses, Ballyowen and Wild Turkey. The other nine-hole course, Minerals, has been ranked as one of the top 12 short courses in the country, but Cascades still manages to hold its own. The course offers a fair amount of challenge but the main appeal is its playability. Cascades Golf Club is mostly open with a few strategically placed bunkers coming into play. There is also the occasional water hazard. The golf course is gentle enough for beginners but provides a quick but fun round for more advanced golfers.

cascades golf
I love this course, 9 holes that play really well, BUT when you get stuck behind a group of 6 plus an instructor playing "foot golf" it is both frustrating and unfair. If I pay for golf I do not want to deal with soccer players.
Poor course
Waste money, staff not kind
Mountain Delight
Played w/ a seasoned golfer from Orlando who loved the course. Unfortunately we could not finish because of heavy rain.
bunkers need sand
sand needed in bunkers for years
Hidden gem among great courses!
Had a 2:30 tee time on a Saturday afternoon. Felt like we were the only ones on the course. I think at one other time we saw another group, then they disappeared. Chance of rain may have scared people away. Had about average expectations about this course compared to the other courses up there. Expectations were blown away! The course was beautiful. Every hole played differently, Couple tight holes and if your not in the fairway, the thick fescue will eat your ball up. Greens were in pretty good shape. Not the most difficult greens but the course itself was pleasantly challenging. Got the front 9 in, grabbed a beer at the bar inside the lodge at the turn, waited out a little rain and headed right back to the first tee with no problem. Definitely one of the best bang for your buck courses as long as you are ok playing 9 holes twice. I would say that is the only downfall, if I had to pick one.
Over cast
We had early tee time, there was group In front of us and that's it. It felt like we were the only people on the course awesome, finished the round in 3 hours
Definitely worth a look.
I've played all of the other tracks at the resort so I wanted to try Cascades. I'm glad I did. I thought it very much led Wild Turkey but with a bit more character at half the price. From the tips, it was no joke either. Yes, the foot golfers can be a mild distraction for those of you in search of a classic country club feel but it was all just in good fun and worth it for the opportunity to tackle a quality track with multiple challenges.

Nice course, slow play...due to second 18 mixes in with first 9 hole players.
Early season - high winds
Course was still in winter mode. No grass growing. Was a warm day and seemed to be overbooked. Pace was very slow as was probably first round for many and winds were gusting for a good part of it. Will be more playable when grass is growing and better lies are found. On short par 3 4th hole we all took 2 or 3 more clubs than usual. Still none of us put it on the green. Brutal winds on that spot in particular.
Great Place
Very good condition, pace of play was excellent, course was fun and challeging, would play here again
Good value
Great value for the price, pace was a little slow but the course was busy that morning.
Beautiful for your money
Everything was in great shape from the tee offs to three fairways to the greens for what I payed.
Not for serious golfers
Played here as our normal venue was booked solid. This was the Friday before July fourth and was a legal holiday. Very crowded as to be expected. Played 18 holes and the first 9 were fine. Course is a combination of golf and foot golf, there were many flags all over the course including large holes for foot golf, smaller but still large holes for "family" golf and the normal golf flag. Course itself it very hilly. Fairways were just ok but the greens were fine but very slow. The second nine was an issue as they just keep on booking tee times without thought that many are playing twice. Waited about 1/2 hour to start second nine and the play was very slow. All the staff were quite nice but the course lacks amenities. The restroom sign on the course pointed you to a porta-john, ugh! Over priced for what it is. Quite a long ride considering the overall experience.
Cascades
1)The course and staff were fine. Hiwever they have sprinklers on timers, during PLAY! So at 11 am the sprinklers went on for 10-15 minutes on the 2nd hole green!!!
2)Also, they were mowing, and building with really loud machinery near and on holes, which was really annoying.
3) never did a food/drink cart come around
4)1 hole had a hole with a flag ON THE GEEEN,so I had to move my golfball to the side of it to putt!
Great course
Beautiful course and very challenging. I recommend it
great value.
Great value, beautiful location, friendly staff.
Course is difficult and there are a lot of lost balls.
Would play this course again.
Sandy Greens?
I've played this course a handful of times before. Golfnow often has significant discounts, so this is usually a fallback option for me (please note this is a pretty solid course, but it loses points with me because it's 9 and you go around twice). I realize it's pretty early in the season...there was probably snow on the ground there until early April...but the greens were recently aerated or topdressed, etc. There was sand on the greens and the grass was long and thin. I feel as though Golfnow or at least the proshop should have mentioned this.
I frequent the courses that are part of the Crystal Springs Golf Resort. They're generally a pleasure to play, if not too expensive. However, they dropped the ball on this one.
Wonderful Experience
Played 18 holes with my eight year old son. He was made to feel welcomed and had a great time from the junior tees. The course is in great shape. Ample room to hit your driver and the course plays very fair, no tricks. Greens are challenging. Overall this nine hole course plays like a first class resort course, but is valued priced. We had foot golfers on the course that slowed things up for a few holes, but not really a big deal. We look forward to playing it again.
Nice course
Although it is 9-hole only, we could play twice. The course is in excellent condition in greens, fairways, and tee box.
Awesome
Best 9 hole course around .....love the course design ...hats off to the staff ...tight at times but challenging and fair ...no gimmick holes (my problem with other CS courses) greens were still showing signs of the recent aeration ..no worries though as these things need to happen at some point ...and it was reflected in the price ...I'll be back before the season ends
