Ron Jaworski's RiverWinds Golf & Tennis Club
About
Ron Jaworski’s Riverwinds Golf & Tennis Club is situated along a scenic stretch of grassland between the banks of the Woodbury Creek and the deep harbor marina on the Delaware River. Its location gives it the feel of traditional seaside links courses found in Scotland and Ireland, which is further enforced by the sod-wall bunkers that lurk near the greens. The layout features plenty of water and incorporates the surrounding wetlands as well. One unique feature of the golf course is that the routing winds across a mile-long twisting burn, creating a visually interesting setting. Riverwinds begins with a gentle, mostly flat front nine but the mounding becomes more aggressive as you move onto the back. All of the holes face a different direction, which means you’ll most likely be using all the clubs in your bag to tackle the crosswinds and rugged terrain.

in great shape for this early in season
you normally do not expect fast and well maintained greens at this time of year but Riverwinds is in terrific shape for this early in the season. The guys who maintain this course are doing a great job and the course itself is really a very challenging test. Go play here as its one of the best publics in this area
The best course in South Jersey
Played Riverwinds on Saturday (3/23) and Sunday (3/24). The course is always in great shape. Saturday was brutally windy so the course played much tougher than Sunday when conditions were sublime. I can't recommend this course enough although the price does get to be a little on the expensive side in the summer. Regardless, it's a fun course that can be challenging but can also provide low scores and always provides a wonderful set of finishing holes along the Delaware River.
Love winter golf
Course us in great shape for January, I love the challenge of winter golf with frozen greens , yeah you get a ton of roll in fairways , trick is to figure out where to land ball to stay on greens! It’s comical at times but fun! We always have a lot of laughs at Riverwinds in the frozen tundra!
This course was sick
I get to see some pretty mice courses. However, this course was one of the greatest public courses I’ve played. It was a little wet from some rain yesterday but wasn’t too much of an issue. It’s definitely a challenging course if you don’t hit the fairway. The 17th island green was my favorite part about it. I can’t wait to go back. I just hope the play is faster next time.
Love it
Always a treat playing here one of my favorite tracks
Good Course, High End Price
I've been playing this course since it opened, about once a season. They have improved pace of play, bunkers are perfectly maintained, layout is good. Greens had a lot of divot damage, felt long and soft too. Ran true, but in my opinion they could use some sand to firm them up. Looks like they are preparing for the hot summer by keeping em soft. Played in a little over 4hrs with a 4some.
Over rated
Slow just like any jaws course over booked which then makes it over rated if he didn’t have his name on so many courses in this area golf would be much more enjoyable and at a quicker pace
4+stars
Been a few years since I’ve played this track. Always enjoyed it. Always in good shape. Lots of rain the night before ant the course held up nicely. Greens were faster then expected. They even were able to get to some bunkers . Also the hot deal. All good 4+ stars.
Needs a couple things
The scoreboard was not handicapped on a per hole basis. You couldn’t tell which hole ranked hardest to easiest.
Carts are old and beat up
AERATING GREENS 1st WEEK OCTOBER
Course in great shape. Cart path only due to rain on Tuesday. Greens conditions some of the best of the season. Beware: greens being punched this week. Shared with us by Maintenance staff.
Unlikely that pro shop will share this info in advance. GolfNow used to use Advisory symbols for courses that recently aerified, but no longer do. Advice: Call ahead - ask questions before booking.
RiverWinds morning play
Never a bad day at RiverWinds. Today was no different. Friendly staff at every amenity (Pro shop, Snack bar, cart service). Just wish they’d get the Pro shop closer to the course.
As for getting a beverage and a meal afterwards, the restaurant at the end is perfect.
River views
The course was in great condition despite recent greens aerification. A very nice layout but the regular price greens fees were too high.
Aerated Greens
NOTE: Greens aerified and sanded on Aug. 21. Recommended 2nd week of September for fully recovering. ALSO, started informed me that they top dress the greens every Tuesday,. I have played the course twice and each time the greens were basically automatic 2 putt. Aerifying is necessary maintenance, but weekly top dressing is too bad. The green could be spectacular.
When this course is in ideal condition it could be a real gem. The layout and holes are solid. Wide open course, but penalty for missing fairways with long rough. They could reduce the rough throughout the course. Very difficult to find balls.
Good value with Golf Now Hot Deal. Otherwise, too pricey.
Good day for golf
Good price for a good tee time, good pace of play and cool drinks afterwards.
Solid Course with Golf Now deal. Sanded Greens
Greens had been sanded in the morning. Necessary maintenance but disappointing to not fully appreciate them.
Wide open course, though rewarded for fairways hit. Rough is rough.
Solid course close to philly with GN deal.
Course was in excellent shape problem was cart path only requirement. There was no reason for this fairways were not wet or puddled should have been allowed to cross at 90 degrees at least. We were told heavy rain the night before only puddles I saw were on paved surfaces.
Greens were aerified at the end of August. This is not accurate information.
