Ron Jaworski's RiverWinds Golf & Tennis Club
About
Ron Jaworski’s Riverwinds Golf & Tennis Club is situated along a scenic stretch of grassland between the banks of the Woodbury Creek and the deep harbor marina on the Delaware River. Its location gives it the feel of traditional seaside links courses found in Scotland and Ireland, which is further enforced by the sod-wall bunkers that lurk near the greens. The layout features plenty of water and incorporates the surrounding wetlands as well. One unique feature of the golf course is that the routing winds across a mile-long twisting burn, creating a visually interesting setting. Riverwinds begins with a gentle, mostly flat front nine but the mounding becomes more aggressive as you move onto the back. All of the holes face a different direction, which means you’ll most likely be using all the clubs in your bag to tackle the crosswinds and rugged terrain.

Nice Course! - Would Recommend
Nice course! Unfortunately was only able to play 9, so did not get to play the island green on the 17th which was a bummer. But course conditions were nice. Also, the gentleman at bag drop was very friendly and even cleaned our clubs upon returning from our round! Great place, can’t wait to get there for a full round!
Very nice public course - a little beat up by play
First time playing Riverwinds and it was a good round. I was looking for a local course to play and this almost links-style course didn’t disappoint. The staff are very good, knowledgeable and courteous. With the recent heatwave the course itself was in better shape than I expected. That said the greens were showing the wear and tear of a tough season. For whatever reason it seems like golfers here are lax at repairing their divots. Which is a shame. All in all I had a good experience and hope to return soon.
Great Course Just Needs a Driving Range
One of the nicest courses in the Philly area close to the city. The course would be even better if they built a driving range and short range. There is a ton of land to do so and would really upgrade the facilities at the course.
Golf with a view
The course is challenging but fun! We only played 12 holes as a storm came rolling in.
We enjoyed it very much!
Speedy round
First tee time on a Monday morning. Paired with another single after the three guys who booked the time didn't show up. Got done in 2 1/2 hours. Got to love the early tee times.
This is a nice course
One of the nicer courses in greater Philadelphia are of NJ. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were near perfect. Is more expensive than most but if you get a chance to play it you should.
Some good, some not so good.
Played July 4th, staff was friendly, we started on time and had no problems with pace of play, might have waited on two or three holes for a couple minutes, nothing to really complain about. Course layout rewards accuracy rams some risk taking but fescues and rough are penal. Greens were firm and fast and generally is very good shape with one outlier that looked as if 25% of the green was being repaired. Bunkers could use some attention but were playable. Overall you are paying for the views of the Philadelphia skyline, for $124 there are better options out there in terms of value, but a little known fact is they offer a $25 replay rate which is a great deal if you feel the need to play another nine like we did. For the price, I would expect pristine conditions. Overall it was a good course, and very clean, but the sticker price is a bit high based on condition of the tee boxes, bunkers, and some of the greens.
Course in great condition. Couple of tee boxes where rough. But course was in great shape. However no water on course. They told me no coolers on course. But I’m glad I brought it. And with an early time in the heat cart girl needs to start earlier. No driving range at all a mat and a net. For 110 dollars there should be a driving range
Great course
Fun challenge. Great course and in very good condition. Unfortunately the pace of play for Father’s Day weekend was.. poor. We asked some of the staff afterwards and they all mentioned that’s not the norm. Was shocked there wasn’t a ranger or two out there to monitor. We had a 3 ball ahead of us (just two of us) and it was a 5 hour round. (And there were groups ahead of them so we couldn’t pass)
One of the better courses in the area
I’ve always enjoyed this course and it’s been awhile because the Jaworski courses were pulled from TeeOff/Golfnow. It was good to get back
Now understand the name
Great course, understand now why it’s called river winds. Overall great place. After the lag on the first tee, no issue with pace of play at all. Great course conditions, good fast greens.
Mid-winter conditions
Course conditions for off-season play are he best in the area. Forget the typical thin lies and fairways that don't drain. This is the place to play on that warm winter day that we've seen so often this year.
Nice course
Very nice course. The only improvement I would like to see is on the cart paths. There are too many ruts and muddy areas because the path is too narrow. These certain areas could be widened by stones, laying six by sixes, or even asphalt. It would really improve the appearance of a very nice course.
