Solid course, great greens, overpriced.
Layout was as expected, conditions were decent, greens were fantastic, bunkers were in awful condition. Solid course, but $94 is way too much.
Disappointed
I reserved a remaining spot with a threesome for today at 2:12
The starter told me to go ahead and play by myself since the threesome wanted to play by themselves. That was not very enjoyable and I would have appreciated knowing that ahead of time so I could make other arrangements or cancel completely.
I play a lot of golf in Florida and haven’t seen any golf groups act that way
Enjoyed it
Great pace of play and can’t beat $35 a round for 2 pm tee time. Completed round in 3.5 hours, perfect
well done Avalon
course was in SUPER SHAPE..miss the clubhouse being open..greeens slow, but no big deal..looking forward to next round there
Great conditions!
Course was in EXCELLANT condition, the best I have seen it and I have been playing Avalon for a number of years.
Not bad... but not that good
Overall not a bad course. However, the 5 hour round was the worst. Greens were very slow, probably haven’t been rolled in over a week. Fairways were a bit hairy. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Is what it is, for a slightly pricier south jersey public course. I would much rather play Shoregate or Cape May National if I’m going to pay over $70 for a public beach town track. If you can get in early, I’d say that would be for the best.
Great to be back!
Great job by the staff, spacing the tee times, practicing social distancing with one per cart and being friendly at the same time. Pace of play was great! Course was in pretty good shape. Will definitely be back.
Course and greens in good shape considering it’s March. Always enjoy this course
A gem at the shore
Tim is a great pro. Friendly courteous service and a well stocked pro shop. The seasonal membership has tremendous value.
Good course for the $
Staff is always friendly and helpful, keeping play moving along. Not the most challenging or longest course, but fun to play.
Fun
Not in the greatest conditions but definitely a fun course to play if you play bad your score will reflect on it if you play good your score will reflect on it even though the conditions aren’t the greatest I would definitely play there again
Very Friendly Staff
The pro .... Tim Winner is the very best. His service will not disappoint.
Avalon course nice layout.
Very nice layout but course conditions were not good , it has been very hot and there was a tropical storm so I am hoping that is the reason .
Avoid unless you have no other alternative
I’ve played Avalon many times over the last 25 years. Although I belong to a local private course, occasionally, like every few years, I have a reason to play Avalon. Usually it’s because a friend isn’t a keen golfer and wants to play a reasonably priced and easy course. So , yesterday, we played Avalon. It’s in awful shape, fairways full of dead spots, very slow pace and the greens are impossibly slow. I think the fairways on my home course may putt faster. It’s always slow at Avalon, like five hours but the course condition is a bit better than now. They also for some reason have no drinking water on the course.
