The Architects Golf Club
About
The Architects Golf Club is a unique layout that honors legendary course designers including Donald Ross, A.W. Tillinghast, and Alistair Mackenzie. Each hole is named after a famous designer, beginning with Old Tom Morris. The opening par 5 pays homage to St. Andrews' designer through the use of the existing features as hazards such as the rock wall and the sloping hillside that the green is deftly carved into. One of the most memorable holes is the 13th, another par 5 that will give you a taste of what it's like to play Augusta. This Alistair Mackenzie-inspired hole offers many risks and rewards. Golfers will face fairways bunkers and a pond on the left and then a creek that runs diagonally in front of the triple-tiered green. Position is the key to maneuvering this tough hole.

Strict Cancellation Policy
I had two late cancellations from my foresome, so we ended up with only two players. The starter wouldn’t let us tee off until I paid for the two cancellations. I will say the starter was respectful to my group, but firm in not letting us start without paying. After paying for the two cancellations, which they did provide rain checks for the rounds, we played our round. I asked to speak to a manager when we were done and I explained the late cancellations. I also explained how there were multiple open tee times after our group and it seemed strict to charge for both cancellations. The manager didn’t care, he said that was their policy.
I’m not denying their policy existed, I just think it’s poor business relations to charge for two cancellations if the course is obviously not fully booked.
Now I’m done complaining.
Challenging But Fair
This is a great course and location. I have played this several times and each time it presents a new challenge as they have some tee box options that can change the playing of a given hole.
I would recommend you try this course if you are in the area. Probably the best in the local area.
My only challenge is it is pricey for the area and for $100 Per round I would expect more amenities included like free range balls, towels in the cart and gps or a least a free yardage book.
Great layout and good condition considering too much rain
Classic holes make a fun layout. Aeration holes were healing and the greens had good speed. A little wet, but great. Highly recommended.
A really fun course. It plays long - too long for me - but I enjoy it anyway because the holes are so nice. They could use a set of tees about 5900 yards for us not long hitters.
Interesting design approach
First and foremost, Architects is not a replica course so don’t expect to find Amen Corner. But for those interested in classic golf architecture, it’s an interesting example that tries (some better than others) to incorporate the styles of various architects. The course is a solid layout with a interesting variety of par 3s and very strong closing par 4s on both nines. Greens had been recently punched and were still recovering a bit (smooth but slow). Great value at $50 for seniors.
Really good course
Played on a Monday afternoon. Course was not too busy and we got through in 4:15
We have had a lot of rain in the last week, but the course was dry and in very good shape. I am sure it will get better as we get into summer.
For a Monday afternoon, the restaurant was open, as was the grill at the turn.
Overall a course I would certainly play again.
Greens not in good condition
They just air-rated the greens, fairways also need a little more time to come in.
Friendly staff and excellent layout.
golf courses in good shape even though they got to rain this the day before Fairways were decently solid greens were still fast
ONE OF MY FAVORITES IN NJ
for a public course this is one of my favorites. always in good condition and a challenging layout without any tricked out holes.staff is always friendly and courteous.
Nice shape for this time of year
The course was in good shape for this time of year. I will play again later in the year.
Decent Shape
The course was in pretty good shape for this time of year. Cart path only while understandable, is still a nuisance when playing alone. Course is nice and will improve with the weather.
Good day for golf in February
Went as a single got paired up with 3 guys had a great time. Course was in good shape for winter can't wait to play again.
Favorite course
Love the course and layout, great value with golf now
Great layout
The course was just beautiful. Not a single fallen leave, the fairways were cut short, the greens were fast and true. No one was there either. We had a wonderful time. I wish my game was up to par with the course.
