Reviews
Overpriced for the quality
Don’t waste your money here. The course is not in good shape. The greens were aerated and they still charge almost 80 bucks for a round. Also, hole 16 was closed.
Stay away
I couldn’t imagine that the course could be in worse shape than it currently is. The fairways had more weeds than grass, tee boxes were terrible but most of the greens were decent. It was cart path only because “it’s too dry”. That’s the first time I have ever heard that one. They have the nerve to charge $80 as if the course is worth any more than maybe $30. Do yourself a favor and stay far away. If it continues the way it is I’d be surprised if it was still open next season.
Father's Day Blast
Playing Deerwood again, suits my eye, just enjoy this course...
Going on 20 years of playing here, hard to believe, also that we still have Greg Farrow; hard to believe we met each other 20 years ago as well.
Thanks again for another memory, this time with my son for Father's Day
Not a bad course
The course is very well maintained but it is poorly designed on the back. Several fairways are nearly side-by-side so be aware of errant shots.
The course did not accept the Victory Golf Pass because the owner does not need the business due to the overabundance of play caused by Covid-19.
We play this course several times a season but this year it was like Deerwood saying, "We are doing great this year, so screw you"... I guess Deerwood CC will not need our business in 2021.
Solid 1st Impression
Great course, well maintained. Didn't see a ranger all day then in the 18th fairway he appeared to caution pace of play???Finished in 4hrs 15min on a holiday Fri. No on premises outdoor 19th hole options.
Deerwood Country club
Played the course late November after all the leaves have fallen. The course was in great condition as the maintenance staff really did a great job keeping the leaves off the course. As for the course itself, it is not a long course if played from the white tees but is challenging. There are several holes with areas that need to be carried by the tee shot. The hole layout is not typical as front 9 and back 9 with a return to club house, you don’t see the club house until completion of the round.
With all of these comments, I still would recommend this course be played, I alway enjoy playing it.
Hidden gem
I really was surprised by this course. I never really heard about it especially with it being relatively close to the city. It's not the longest course but it has a lot of forced carries. It is in great shape even after they just aerated the greens. They have back to back par 3's which you don't see to much but you can understand from the layout why there back to back. I really enjoyed my round here and would recommend this course to anyone who hasn't played it yet.
South Jersey Golf Association
Played in the SJGA Senior Tournament. Great fun. The course is not too long (this is good). 4 sets of tee's.
Good conditions throughout. Some forced carries, but doable. Routing is a little strange. You do not return to the clubhouse after 9. And there are some long walks between greens and the next Tee. Course is flat but would not be fun to walk.
Thanks so much for this review. I live near by and haven’t ever heard of it, so wanted to give it a try after seeing it highly ranked on here.
