Warrenbrook Golf Course
About
Warrenbrook Golf Course is one of five courses operated by the Somerset County Park Commission. Although it is a seemingly mild 6,372 yards from the back tees, don't let the yardage fool you. This course is a formidable test. The layout is very tight, routed through dense stands of mature trees that loom above the fairways and frame the greens. In addition to being heavily wooded, the rolling terrain provides many tricky ups and downs ranging from subtle to dramatic. You'll be hard-pressed to find a flat lie on this golf course and you should also be prepared for a few blind shots. To top it all off, there are also a few strategically placed bunkers. Your accuracy will be put to the test at Warrenbrook Golf Course, as will your course-management skills.

Always in good condition
Course was in its usual good condition- and staff has always been pleasant- but encountered bit of an issue. While booking and confirming tee time on-line, website said it was to be for 18 holes but only 11 were open for play. Rest of course was off-limits due to maintenance. Was able to play 12 by replaying one but was disappointed that no mention was made when booked. In spite of that- look forward to playing there again due to the course’s usually good condition and friendly staff.
Golf review
The fact that I could only play 11 holes, due to several holes being closed because of damaged done to several holes by Motorcycles ripping up the greens! Out of the control of management. I will be back in the future.
4/30/22 - BS
Drove 40 minutes to find out only 11 holes were open. Sure, only charged us $20 to walk, but a notification would’ve deterred me from carving out my Saturday to play a partial round. Half of the “playable” holes had tarps on parts of the greens. Pace of play was horrible, took nearly 3.5 hours for 11 holes. Save your time and your money.
Slick Greens
Greens were just as good as Hamilton Farm my playing partner said. The course was in unreal shape, especially the greens.
First time, will be back
Challenging .. many blind shots, and not knowing the course that’s a problem.
Conditions were very good, greens in particular were in excellent shape. The sand traps were in good shape, relative to a lot of other courses we’ve played lately, make it in very good shape.
Two of the par 3s on the front are very long...Trying to hit a green from 175 ish is a bit much .
Previous reviews mentioned an unfriendly starter. Yup, quite rude.
Pro shop was fine.
Needs maintenance. Very rude starter
When you face customers it doesn’t take a lot to be nice. There is no need to berate, or talk down to people. The early AM starter should be out mowing the grass and away from greeting people to start a round of golf. Golfers pay decent money to play here. THE STARTER is a misanthrope, and hates people from what we could tell.
The course is ok. Tee boxes were in bad shape. The tee box grass was long and hairy. The fairway grass was not much better. The rough was inconsistent.
For the money you could find better and have a better experience.
I would not recommend this place .
Not kept. Rude staff .
Sunday AM starter shouldn’t be facing customers . Miserable human . Tee boxes were just as bad as the rough. Seems like they weren’t cut for a week.. rough was in inconsistent. Fairways were hairy too and had not been cut. Bunkers were terrible , not maintained.
Greens were good and the saving grace.
If you’re desperate to play , it’s ok. But if you want service , and a top notch golf with friendly staff, do not come here.
Review
The greens were in great shape. The tees need work. Overall between the tees and greens could use improvement. The long dry spell over the summer didn't help this course. That's something applicable to a number of other courses.
Fairways could use a lot of work as they were extremely dry. Greens were in good condition.
Incredibly Rude Staff
Fully understand the severity and issue that showing up 5 minutes past our tee time causes but the disrespect that we were treated with by the gentleman who was working the carts was unacceptable. He rudely explained to us the meaning of a tee time to which we acknowledged and proceeded to begin to play. First time playing here and a line of carts was blocking where the first tee box was. We drove off thinking it was further in the distance and were mocked when we came back around after we realized our mistake. To Deescalate the situation we decided to skip the first hole and play on from the second one. For the sake of time we played a scramble to make sure we weren’t holding up people behind us. Throughout the entirety of the 17 holes (some of which were in pretty bad shape) that we played we felt perfectly balanced between the people in front of us, who at times we waited to tee off, and the people behind us. As we approach the clubhouse after the 16th hole The same gentleman (Bill?) Made sure to come over and comment on our pace of play. Our group was all beginners and with this was our first or second time respectively playing a full 18 holes. After finishing he made sure to come over and tell us we would be faster if we drove over the course to our balls. Mind you, every other course I’ve ever been to has specifically asked for players to not do so as it can damage the fairway.
I apologize for any issues that our tardiness may have caused, and I fully understand that it is his responsibility to keep everything that happens on the course in check (pace of play and start time). but the way that we were treated was appalling. I wholeheartedly recommend assessing your staff. The woman behind the desk was incredibly pleasant and friendly upon check-in. As a business owner of 6 stores we would not allow any employee to work for us after behavior like this. If us being 5 minutes late should have disqualified us from being able to play I would not be writing this review. We will absolutely never be returning.
