William F. Larkin Golf Course at Colonial Terrace

Long off-season I missed this quick little track. Went around twice opening day and once again today 3 days later. 9 holes takes 1 hrs +15-40 minutes.

Course is still amazing and a joy to play on, especially as a practice course. The only problem is that holes 1, 2, 8, and 9 are infested, and I mean infested, with sand bees. They don’t sting, but do attack you if you get close to the sand dunes. Makes those 4 holes nearly unplayable.

I was impressed on how at this late stage of fall, that the fairways and greens were leaf free and the fairways and greens were much improved

The people that work there are very nice. The course is only 9 holes but you can pay to play twice for 18. You only pay for the cart once, so the second round is only $13.00 more than what you paid to play the first nine. The greens are a problem for me. I believe the regs require four sq. ft. around the holes be level and flat. A 1\4 inch miss will roll 8-12 feet past the hole. The pace of play is usually good, but as on any course, very slow groups ruin a good day. Common courtesy dictates that they should invite faster players to play through. Rangers should enforce the rule. All in all, I like the place !
