Nice & Enjoyable! Recommended!!
The Best 9 hole course I've played.
Layout, conditions, pace, staff make for a for a very enjoyable round (twice around)!
A.must course to play.
Designed for any age or level golfer.
Stay in the fairways; as you will want to anyway.
Fairways, greens, clubhouse, food staff, all are thumbs
Up!
I will attend again. Coming from South Jersey or NYC
A solid place to play
First time in the course and having just opened to the public as a semi private course my expectations were fairly high, especially given the area of New Jersey. Bartender eas amazing with a solid clubhouse for drinks and food. Really good grub (chic sandwich is aces) too. Course was a bit narrow but well designed for the space and in good shape overall. No beverage cart on the course and got an earful on the last hole from a crew member as we came in on the 9th about our pace of play. My 12 year old son was with me and some buddies and the threesome of younger guys behind us was waiting for a few minutes so to me that was a bit rude. For $80 including cart for 9-holes it was slightly underwhelming for above average public price. But I'd probably go back for that chicken sandwich and a solid course.
gem
well maintained, great layout. scenic with great variety layout. Never get boried
Just OK
Let me start with a disclaimer. I had a 2:20pm tee time with my 8yo son, who by the way plays competitive golf. I was told that kids are not allowed until after 3pm, not even for members. But they made an exception since the course was pretty empty. I paid $80 for each of us, with cart, which is highway robbery. The course is not worth $160. We played Skyway last Saturday and they only charged me $80 with my son and cart. The course feels like just feels like an old man. I felt like I was at Twin Willows. The bar and restaurant are dated, but the find is edible and there's booze. We most likely won't be back, there's too many better options at more reasonable prices.
Local Gem
Nice course in the heart of Northern NJ. Beautiful surroundings. Will definitely play there again
Average 9 Hole Course
Old Tappan is a short course that has some awkward holes. Par 3 3rd had the white tee all the way to right side of tee box with a back right pin. Problem being there is a massive tree blocking the right side of green. 4th hole is a 90 degree dogleg left that requires a 170-190 shot then leaving 200+ for the 2nd shot uphill. 5th is a blind tee shot requiring about a 200 yard tee ball given the dogleg. 6 is a pitch and putt hole about 90 yards to a severe elevated green.
Overall, it’s not the good layout for bigger hitters or if you dislike odd or blind visuals off the tee.
Great Palce
This is a hidden Gem. Great place to enjoy and work on your game
9 holes but real...
Although this is a 9 hole course, it is much better than other 9 hole courses in Rockland and Bergen. I played it twice to make it 18.
The course was is good condition and fairly forgiving. There are woods and trees but it isn't so narrow that every shot needs to be perfect. If you have played Broadacres, this course is similar. If you have played at the Rockleigh, this course blows it away!
