Atlantic City Country Club
About
When the Atlantic City Country Club Golf Course opened its doors to all daily-fee golfers, it immediately became a popular choice and it is considered to be one of the best courses in New Jersey. Golf Week Magazine even named it the #1 Public/Daily-Fee Golf Course in New Jersey. This famous golf course is where the term "birdie" is said to have been invented and where high-profile players like Arnold Palmer are said to frequent. This 18-hole course has a challenging layout and a picturesque coastal view with beautiful fairways. The greens are undulating and fast. The course also features challenging par-4s on the 14th and 18th holes. With several hazards on each including large fairway bunkers, both holes require great precision.

15th Green Photo submitted by ozzone47 on 12/07/2015
Perfect weekend
My wife and I played after our friend wedding in Avalon. The staff was more then accommodating and the course was amazing. We enjoyed the history about the club throughout the clubhouse. I would highly recommend playing here.
First time but not the last
This might be one of my favorite courses. Challenging and beautiful. A little windy, but manageable. Loved it.
Beautiful Windy Day
Wind was howling. 18mph. Had a blast. Course in great shape even after recent air raiding. Will play again. Greens fast and true. I enjoyed that. Fairway cut thin and rough is forgiving.
ACCC is wonderful
Greens were fast. Some challenging holes and quite a few with coastal views
Nice Course
It was the first time I played Atlantic City Country Club and I would definitely go back. The fairways and greens were in really good shape and the bunkers were very soft and fluffy. You also have really good views of the Jersey Shore from the course. The clubhouse was in good condition as well. Would definitely play at this course again.
Great Historical Club with a Mixed Classic/Links Design
ACCC is a great treat for an avid golfer, filled with history and great skyline views. Pretty cool to walk through the clubhouse and locker room and see names like Al Capone, Willie Mays, and of course, Arnold Palmer gracing the walls and lockers. Great restaurant/bar for a meal as well. The course itself is a classic layout with tricky undulating greens mixed with a dose of British links golf along the marsh. It’s brutally tough when the winds kick up off the ocean, but the course is designed to welcome a ground game approaching the greens. It’s probably not worth the $125+ they charge, though. But it’s one of the best public courses on the Jersey Shore, and I’d definitely play here again!
Overall: 8.4/10
Not as it once was
The course and facilities certainly showing signs of poor management and maintenance. Although we had a 4:20 hour round it seemed like 5. We waited for almost every shot on back 9. Very little raking done in bunkers and it seemed that there were not enough rakes around some. It used to be a premier course now trending towards a good muni. Not worth the price.
The place to play in AC
Love this course. Great old school layout with excellent conditions. I’ve played this course in almost every month of the year and it’s always in great shape. The staff is friendly and the locker room has old school charm. The restaurant attached to the club is excellent with great sandwiches. If you’re going to be in AC for golf put this course as a must play. Can be expensive in season but worth it.
A Classic Course
This is a course with a lot of character and a ton of history (the term “birdie” was invented here). The view of Atlantic City is fabulous (it looks a lot better from this distance than close up). The course was in great condition and the wind was blowing hard. We were ready to reach the 19th hole and enjoy Happy Hour.
One of NJ’s best offerings.
Great course.
In fantastic shape for this time of year.
You better know how to play in the wind!
Greens were great for time of year.
Only negative comment is that the bunkers weren’t raked & here weren’t any takes out yet however technically it’s still winter so I’ll mention it but I’d give ACCC a pass. The bunkers are tough as it is but they were in play all day with the wind & they were full of footprints & bare spots.
Overall a good experience.
I was partnered up with three good guys from PA.
FUN DAY!
My Favorite...
...public course in New Jersey. Conditions are all good on this great layout.
Fun course.
Great track. Challenging, interesting, great views. Friendly golf staff.
Some great holes, fun overall course, but pricey
A lot of great holes, especially on the back side along the salt marsh. Conditions were good, tees and fairways were excellent, greens were a little spotty with ballmarks but overall they rolled well. It rained hard about an hour before I teed off, but the course drained really well and you never would have known. This was my first time playing it, would definitely take some different lines and play to different parts of the green next time. Overall a really fun course to play, but also very pricey. There are other courses in the same area that are almost as good for half the price, but ACCC is a nice treat if you want to splurge.
Top Notch
This a wonderful old style golf course on the Bay across from Atlantic City. The course was in great shape for this time of year. Only negative is a foursome drove down 10th hole to 11 tee when we were on 9th hole and we caught them as a threesome without trying by the 14th hole. We were third group out so we had been playing without waiting the entire front nine.
A great course in a great setting with a historic classic feel
I was impressed with everything about this golf course. It has a great variety of hole types- straight, left, right, uphill, downhill, long, short (considering the wind, it seemed to me that most of the par-4s played either long or short). The property undulates nicely without anything extreme. the bunkering is large and fair and the greens contour and slope nicely. The fairways have nice width with hazards placed strategically and clearly. Some holes have hazards left or right and others require carries for risk-reward options. The course flows toward, back, then out and into the marshes wonderfully. Some holes are straightforward and others require blind shots (including a mostly blind par-3 set behind a large dune/hill) or carries over water or marshes. The wind was a big factor on quite a few holes, and a couple of long holes play into the wind which adds difficulty. The course is very easy to walk. The views of the marshland and the Atlantic City skyline in the distance add to the experience. The clubhouse is terrific with lots of historical photos and items shown, an old-school lounge and clubroom area, and one of the most interesting historical locker rooms I have seen. The staff was also very helpful. The golf course doesn't blow you away like some other courses that I have rated 5-stars, but it it is good in so many aspects that it is one of my favorites.
Great experience
Overall, great experience. Initially wife fairways made me think this would be an easy course but tougher as you play along. Well kept fairways and good green conditions. Though we are at taitail end of the season, tee boxes are well kept. Course has good layout to keep you interested through out your round. Staff were friendlyespecially the starters. Old school clubhouse but food is good. One thing I thought needed improvement; quickest way to proshop is through men's lockerroom. Safe to say my wifetookthe long way. If you are in AC, definitely a course to try out.
Bear of the best
You really can’t find many golf courses as good as this one let alone.... PUBLIC. Today was my 4th time playing and I enjoyed this one more than the others. Enjoy a lunch, tour the clubhouse and historic locker room. Then spend some time on the great practice facilities before heading to the also incredible first tee which flows into the practice green. Great course. Do not hesitate to book it. Worth every dollar... Sidenote: pro shop attendant, real gentleman, great guy.
Good Layout
Slight Breeze...But last 5 holes you dealing with a lot of BUGS
Good views of AC skyline
Its famous for good reason
Always one tje best courses you can play not only in NJ but anywhere. We played on a wet and windy and the vourse still lived up to high expectations
