Neshanic Valley Golf Course - Lake/Ridge Course
About
Neshanic Valley Golf Course is a 27-hole layout that sprawls across 420 acres of rolling farmland. It is the flagship course of the five-course Somerset County Park Commission system. The design team of Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry crafted the layout, which is divided into three nines called the Lake, Ridge, and Meadow. The nines can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The Lake/Ridge Course, as the name would imply, starts out with a few water holes. In addition to the lakes on the front nine, environmentally sensitive wetland areas come into play throughout. The fairways and greens are bordered by ample fescue and the putting surfaces are closely guarded by strategically placed bunkers. Neshanic Valley also offers a nine-hole, par-32 Academy Course, which is great for beginners.

Love It
Discovered Neshanic end of 2021. Have played course about 7 times. Their are 3 nines. Can’t go wrong with any of them. Nice driving range and the putting green is true to the course. Can’t beat the price for one of the best public golf courses in the state. Wish it was closer than an hour from home.
NESHANIC VALLEY IN DEC
COURSE CONDITION WAS BETTER THAN SOME COURSES I PLAYED IN JUNE!
Great as always
For December golf in New Jersey, absolutely fantastic. Greens were a little slow, however, despite the fact that it rained the day before, the drainage was incredible, and the course was in fantastic condition. Little slow on the front nine, but nobody ahead of us on the back nine. I always play Neshanic if I have a chance.
Great course
Outstanding facility. Shocked it was a county course. Great layout and in excellent condition.
Hidden costs
Maybe it’s just my bad luck but every time I miss the fairway I end up losing my ball. Very frustrating.
Neshanic Valley - Oct 23
Nice course but bumpy greens well past the expected recovery date from aeration
Difficult but fun course in great condition
Neshanic Valley is always fun to play. The course is generally in great shape except that some of the sand traps are a little lacking in sand. Otherwise, the greens, fairways, and tee boxes are all in excellent shape.
The course is pretty difficult - it plays long for the average golfer (10 - 20 handicap). Despite the length, I always enjoy playing the course.
