One of many scenic holes at Spring Meadow Photo submitted by Cory3302115 on 06/23/2014
Spring Meadow
Overall condition of the course for this time of year was good. There were a lot of leaves on the ground, which made it difficult to find your ball at times. Pace was slow due to an over booking in a two hour frost delay in the morning.
Solid course
Solid course for the money. Not in the best shape. Had rained recently and it was late October so some of that is understandable. Happy to play there. Will be back. Would recommend to others
Solid course
Solid course. Presents a decent challenge. Good price for what you get. A lot of the tee boxes were a mess. Big patches with no grass. Hard to keep your feet from slipping. In general, it wasn't as well kept as it usually is.
Overall - Very good
Course Fairways and greens are in very good shape considering they were recently aeriated.
Most T boxes in good shape except for a few. Should have a Ranger out on course to speed up slower foursomes.
Much Better Conditions
Last season there was an obnoxious amount of divots on the greens.
Way better this season.
Tee boxes can use a little TLC.
A lot of exposed dirt.
Understanding that trees are in play and add a degree of difficulty forcing to shape shots but there are a few branches that can be trimmed back a little, especially on some of the par threes for the golfers playing form the Blues.
Other than that. Place is great. Course hold water well. Staff is GREAT. Food/Drinks are great. Price and pace of play are on point.
Overall 4stars and will continue to make this ply “home course”.
Tee boxes
Tee boxes are not good and several par 3 have trees overhanging tee box which have not been cut in years. The state needs to assist the management company with making some improvements since they own the land.
Snails, Turtles and other slow moving objects
Way, way, way too many inexperienced players. I am talking about players (they don't qualify to be called golfers) who have NEVER played the game before yet are out on the golf course. Slow and excruciating pace of play and the agony of waiting on every hole, every shot. And I honestly don't know when this practice became acceptable (players on the course swinging a club for the 1st time in their life – zero experience). This is not how the game developed and yet here we are in 2023 letting anybody and everybody with a credit card in their pocket to go out and ruin the day for those who at least know how to swing a golf club and know you're not supposed to walk on someone's line or you should rake a sand bunker after hitting 9 shots in a row to get out. No lessons on how to play the game, no practice on the range, no etiquette whatsoever. And absolutely no rangers asking the players to either speed up or pick up. Absolutely unacceptable. Can't do this!
Great course for location + money
Relatively easy course. Greens and fairways are always in good condition. Tee boxes are abused in some spots, they are in the shade so not much grass growing there which is probably the problem. They have old tee boxes and could stretch some holes out longer but they aren’t being used. Overall good course for the area and price.
Hacker Haven
3 hours, 9 holes and I quit. Gimmick holes, hackers galore. Lesson learned!!! The only good parts were the greens and the bar but I was so disgusted I didn’t stay for the bar.
Getting better
Greens in great shape. Packed on weekends. Pace brutal. Course layout can add to delays. Short par 4 followed by par 3 willback up with 20+ handicaps all over. Jersey shore golf in the summer. As long as u have no other place to be, good time fun track.
Always a great time
Staff is always fun. The course is maintained. The 19th hole has great food and drink
First time at Spring Meadows, but definately not the last. Staff is great, course is challenging. Can't wait to play here again.
