Opened in 1929, Old Orchard Country Club has a classic design with challenges that stand up to modern golf courses. Throughout the course, you'll see traces of the site's former use as a farm. Ancient apple trees from the original orchard frame many of the holes. The diverse layout will test you with a variety of different shots but the gently rolling terrain makes for an easy walk. Skill and strategy will be generously rewarded but it's not an overly punishing layout for the high handicapper. Old Orchard's greens play true and fast and they are often flanked with strategically positioned bunkers. A stream wanders through the golf course, coming into play on several holes. Golfers will face a tricky island green on the par-5 seventh hole as well as an almost-island green on the par-4 13th.

I've been playing golf for over 30 years and have played public, semi-private, private, and resort courses. This past Saturday I played Old Orchard. With out reservation, this is the WORST kept golf course I've ever seen. The owner has some nerve charging people to play there. It's the lowest of the low. The fairways are all weeds, the greens are in terrible shape. The 12th green was nothing but sand and dirt, NO GRASS. The sand traps need sand, not dirt. The other greens are cut too high and frankly it seemed as if they've never been rolled. There's some water on the course that looks like sewage. Upon arriving I asked the girl behind the counter the speed of the greens. She had no idea what I was talking about. Then I asked to speak to the Pro, she responded that they don't have a Pro (yet they have a "Pro Shop". I guess its a No-Pro Shop. My final word: There are numerous options to play golf around that area, STAY CLEAR OF OLD ORCHARD!!!!!

Fairways were like a cow pasture and the green were in bad shape. Hard to believe they call it a CC. Some nerve charging 60 dollars to play there. Date I played 8/11/13

Amazing course, hidden gem of monmouth county. Well manicured fairways greens and tee boxes, good real sand in the bunkers and challening rough. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. will return

I am skeptical to write this review because this course one of the hidden gems of Monmouth County. They are constantly landscaping and maintaining the course. My only complaint would be that the greens are very slow comparing to other courses. The course is usually very empty and the staff is very accomadating and helpful. Great course. Will return many times

Very good course. Beautiful, a little pricey but worth it. Great course to play on the weekdays because it isn't crowded
