Cape May National Golf Club
About
Cape May National Golf Club, also known as simply the National, is a favorite among both New Jersey natives and visitors. The club has roots that date back to the 1800s when it was known as Cape May Country Club. The peacefully secluded golf course is nestled amidst mature woodlands, surrounding one of the largest private bird sanctuaries in New Jersey. The scenery is beautiful but don't let that distract you. There are plenty of challenges to keep you on your toes, including tree-lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and several water hazards. There are a few blind shots that make Cape May National Golf Club especially tricky if playing it for the first time. The classic design is a fair test but it's player-friendly enough for a wide range of skill levels.

Great Time!
Course was in great shape and a very friendly staff!
challenging
great course, very challanging for me, long. tough time of year, wet conditions. Looking foward to playing there again with better weather and improved game. Highgly recommended
Jersey Shore Value
Great course in very good shape after a brutal winter. Tough when the wind is up.
Hot Deal
My bad, not realizing my Hot Deal price was for greens fee only. They added tax's and fees, and the course charged $15 per person for the cart. Not such a Hot Deal!
Very good shape especially this time of year
Greens excellent -great varity of holes- very well laid out and fun to play. Not for beginers.
Watch the 'hidden cost'
I got to the course and was told I had to pay for the cart [$10]. Never had this happen on Golfnow before. Was told it was "a small notation [cart not included] on the site... Wasn't how I wanted to start the round.
Course was nice and in decent shape.
nice course with wonderful weather
i went this course at the end of Feb, but weather condition was wonderful (about 60 deg). it is really beautiful course. The course condition is not really good due to cold winter season, but i guess this will be much better from spring. i spent about 3 hours(one way)to go there. The reason why i went there was nice course with winter promotion rounding fee(cheap). Anyway, my frinds and i were very happy after this rounding. Though this course is too far, i think this is really a recommendable course with a good rounding fee.
Fun Day
I love when I can get out on this course. Serene, peaceful and pure golf.
Nice course would play again
Bunkers need sand Has chipping, putting and driving range areas.Getting from hole to hole is confusing not well marked
Very nice course to play.
Course was in very nice shape especially with all the rain recently. Great Greens, Only area that could be improved was the cart paths. They could use some smoothing out. Great value.
GREAT COURSE, GREAT LAYOUT.
FIRST TIME IVE EVER PLAYED CAPE MAY NATIONAL, AND IT WON'T BE THE LAST. A WONDERFUL COURSE DESIGN, BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPING, COURSE WAS IN FANTASTIC CONDITION. ONLY ONE ISSUE THAT OUR FOURSOME CAME ACROSS, AND THAT WAS A SMALL OUTING OF ABOUT 25 GUYS WHO ONCE WATCH GOLF ON TV IT SEEMED. IF I COULD MAKE ONE SUGESSTION TO THE STAFF, THAT WOULD BE TO NOT ALLOW OUTTINGS OF ANY KIND ON THE WEEKENDS. OUTINGS SHOULD BE WEEKDAYS ONLY. AND THATS WHY OUR ROUND WAS 5 HOURS.
Long Day
I have played this course before and had a nice day of golf. But this day was a total disaster on a mid October Saturday afternoon. We had a 1:04 tee time. They were recycling carts out as they came in off the course, we didn't actually tee off until about 1:30 and it was dark playing the last hole. Play was slow and there was no one out monitoring play as there was a large outing playing a scramble in front of us. It takes 5 hours to play a scramble. Playing partners left before the 18th hole as well as some players in the group immediately in front of us. Today was a very negative experience. Staff was marginally friendly.
course in very good shape
pace of play was very good, finishing in under 4 hours and course was in very good shape. aerated 9th and 10th greens, and it sounds like they will start more this weekend.
Challenging but beautiful & fun
Greens & fairways in good shape excepting 2 greens just air rated. Remaining greens to be done in next six days.
Course is very scenic.
Picturesque Course
First time playing this course and we were really happy with it overall. Tees needed some attention, but the setting of the course and the layout more than made up for some bare spots. They really should have sand/seed on the carts and tees for divots though, they were getting pretty chewed up.
Pretty tough course and you better be able to control your shots. There are plenty of ways to get into trouble, so if you are a hacker, bring a few extra sleeves of balls.
Wonderful setting, interesting layout, helpful staff.
The course, nestled within a bird sanctuary, provides an excellent experience visually as well as an excellent golfing experience.
Nice course a little changeling
Nice course a little challenging when hitting out of the ruff! Staff not overly friendly!
Very natural set up for golf club.
Enjoyed a great round of golf. Staff great. Course conditions A+.
Nice to be on a course with nature , not houses.
Overall very satisfied I chose this course. In good condition, greens ran well and staff were very friendly. I am female golfer with 20 handicap and I played the Gold tees and played to my handicap. My husband, a 12, didn't do so well, quite a few challenging looks at the fairways from the back tees. Would absolutely play here again and recommend to friends.
Close by my summer home
Great people at pro shop and at cart pick up. Directions on path are hard to read because they have not been painted lately. Some of the water stops had no water in them. Nice course but not worth the $90.00 fee.
