The Architects Golf Club
About
The Architects Golf Club is a unique layout that honors legendary course designers including Donald Ross, A.W. Tillinghast, and Alistair Mackenzie. Each hole is named after a famous designer, beginning with Old Tom Morris. The opening par 5 pays homage to St. Andrews' designer through the use of the existing features as hazards such as the rock wall and the sloping hillside that the green is deftly carved into. One of the most memorable holes is the 13th, another par 5 that will give you a taste of what it's like to play Augusta. This Alistair Mackenzie-inspired hole offers many risks and rewards. Golfers will face fairways bunkers and a pond on the left and then a creek that runs diagonally in front of the triple-tiered green. Position is the key to maneuvering this tough hole.

Did not play
The course management refused to honor Golfnow reservation
Not worth it
Disappointing experience considering it is (or as I’ve come to realize, was) supposed to be a top course. The bunkers were cement traps with loads of rocks in them. For the amount they charge it is unacceptable. Some of the tee boxes had grass so long it bordered on rough.
The range system was annoying and frustrating and their clubhouse was COMPLETELY closed.
Not worth the movie.
It was fine but missed out on a lot
Playing this course during covid was not the best time as the clubhouse was completely closed and most of the employees acted like they didn’t want to be there, especially the starter. As for the course itself it was in good condition, some burnt out spots but for the most part it was fine. The gimmick didn’t work for me on some of the holes, especially the Ross holes. There weren’t really any of the signature shelf greens you see on a lot of his courses. I’d recommend it for the novelty of playing it as the Old Tom Morris and Tillinghast holes are solid. I will say that the gentleman running the outdoor food stand at the turn was really great and engaging.
Nice concept...nice conditions...nice round of golf
The Architects Club copies the famous holes of acclaimed gold course architects. It is a nice concept much like Tour 18 in Dallas or Golden Ocala in Florida (which is now private). If you are a golf nut, buy the yardage book that outlines the architect and the course where the hole is originally played.
The course conditions were outstanding and the greens were nice. A couple of greens showed some wear but it was the middle of summer and a course where I suspect there is a lot of play, so understandable.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
Over priced and bad policies
Overall the staff is friendly, so not a review on them. The course was meticulous when I started playing it a decade ago. Was overpriced then, but worth it on occasion. Now it is not worth the pricing, and to make it worse some even the range (was great) is not worth it anymore. AFTER putting hundreds of dollars on the card, they changed the natural grass area to members only and put a dirty old mat on a cement walkway for anyone else. I can't imagine paying a membership for a course not worth the $118 they are charging individually. After the range cards are done, and a few gift cards remaining, I am more than likely done with this course. I can play courses just as nice, some better manicured, twice for that price by driving 3 miles to Easton PA. I can hit off a mat on my patio and save the range card as well. One positive, through the covid they have absolutely done a good job managing the carts/staff/distancing etc. And again, always friendly. Shame on the policy and pricing.
Good winter conditions
Good winter conditions, greens were very slow, can't complain being that it is the 1st week of March.
Winter Golf
For January, this course was in great shape. Love the layout. My favorite NJ course!
Excellent condition of course for this time of the year
very nice
Great day for November weather. Course was in great shape. Challenging holes with a ton of variety. Chance to use all the clubs in your bag. Worth the price in the early winter weather. Greens were good and the fairways were very nice. Recommend getting out before the snow.
Great Fall Golf...
Course was empty thanks to the rain the past couple of days...cart path only, but we were happy to get the extra work in!
Greens were imacculate and this continues to be a challenging course off the Blues - Golds would be very tough in these conditions..
Some renovations limiting club house use, but not a concern for us.
Finished in 3 1/2 hours, even with the cart path only rule..when it's this pace, a truly great day out and excellent value...
Great course.
I had a great time today. The course was in great shape. It has a great layout and the fairways and greens were very good. Staff were great getting me paired up and golfing as well as service in the dining area. I will always look forward to playing at Architechs. We’ll done!
Great time in the wind
It was very windy the day we played with the wind moving the ball sometimes 20 to 30 yards on our drives. The condition of the course was so nice this didn't effect us at all. Will definitely come back. One of the nicest coused in the area.
Worth the Ride
I live 1 1/2 hours away from this course, nice ride, and the course looked great, with great views of the area. As a single, joined with,3 gentlemen, had a good time. Every hole was different, and greens in good shape got quicker as they dried from the morning dew.
If one has the opportunity, I recommend this course.
great course
would highly recommend! we had a makeshift "tournament" occupying 12 tee times in front of ours, they played very slow but the staff rode around doing their best to keep pace while also letting my group and other groups behind know what was going on and what they were doing to try and get it moving better. course itself is awesome, a lot of fun and beautiful scenery.
Great variety

I think the best thing about this course is the variation in the different holes. As the course name implies, each hall is designed after a different classic golf architect. What this means to the player is that each hole has a different character. You won't get bored playing this course. As the course name implies, each hall is designed after a different classic golf architect. Keith thank you for your review! Due to COVID the course is not currently accepting GolfNow or 3rd party bookings. You can book a tee time directly with us by visiting our website! Sorry for any confusion that GolfNow might have caused due to posting tee times that were never authorized by the club!
